The name "GSXR" has been around for 25 years and is one which Suzuki must be eminently proud. Their family of GSXR bikes has been one of their most successful ranges and this is due to the massive amount of race success they have achieved in all areas of racing from club and national level up to British Superbike and World Superbike level.
This success has put GSXR bikes at the top of the pile when it comes to buying the ultimate machine. These bikes are renown for their strong, reliable engines developing good amounts of power and torque coupled with a chassis with a reputation for sharp handling. Having owned a couple of these bikes I can vouch for this and believe me, they never disappoint!
Owning one is a fulfilling experience on it's own but sometimes people feel the need to enhance what is already a fantastic machine. Typically, the first item owners look to change is their GSXR exhaust. Again, because of it's racing success, the aftermarket exhaust manufacturers produce many different models for these bikes ranging from road legal slip-on end cans to full titanium race systems. It depends what your ultimate goal for the bike is and how deep your wallet is that will influence your decision but you will find that there is an exhaust to suit all preferences.
As you can probably imagine, whether it is a GSXR 600, GSXR 750 or a GSXR 1000 that you own, it doesn't stop at exhausts. There is a huge selection of aftermarket products available for these bikes and once you start putting your own style into your bike by adding your own choice of aftermarket parts, it becomes a very addictive pursuit...be warned! The list of parts available is endless and extends to anodized fuel filler caps and engine bolt kits to replacement wheels and performance suspension parts so there is almost nothing that you can't find to improve or customize your GSXR.
Racing your buddies around your local twisty back roads is of course a lot of fun but taking your GSXR touring is a fantastic idea as these bikes are more than capable of eating up the miles whilst keeping you in relative comfort. Believe me, I have done it. There is something of a sense of achievement having ridden for a couple of thousand miles across country, taking in the awesome scenery, having a few impromptu races with your buddies along the way, then landing at your destination and taking a few days to hang out. Now here is the best bit. Unlike a normal vacation where you have the disappointing flight home, a vacation on your bike means that you have the ride home to look forward to; it's the icing on the cake!
